The main index of the Damascus Securities Exchange rose at the end of the current trading and the last week of October this month 35.79 points from last week, boosted by positive results for the shares of 4 companies and closed at the value of 5743.03 points, a positive change of 0.33 percent.
The index of leading stocks weighed by free shares fell this week by 4.92 points, or 0.55 percent, and closed at 889.19 points, while trading volume reached 242,717 shares distributed among 434 transactions totaling 162,366 million pounds.
Shares higher than last week's closing prices are Al Badia Cement Company by 10.32 percent and closed at 1161.72 pounds and Al Baraka Bank by 1.50 percent and closed at 836.78 pounds and Sham Bank by 1.24 percent and closed at 607.03 pounds and International Bank for Trade and Finance by 1.21 percent It closed at 338.44 pounds.
The worst performing stocks this week were Fransabank, Qatar National Bank, Sharq Bank and Syria International Islamic Bank, while the other 19 companies listed on the market did not record any change in their prices.
