Oil prices retreated today to trim some of the major gains made in the previous session due to the possibility of producers agree to further cut production and a sharp decline in US crude inventories.
Brent crude futures fell 10 cents, or 0.2 percent, to $ 62.90 a barrel, while US West Texas Intermediate crude futures fell 22 cents, or 0.4 percent, to $ 58.21 a barrel.
Investor attention has shifted to meetings of the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and other producers, including Russia, and the prospect of further production cuts.
