Gold prices fell today and lost one percent, falling from the highest level in nearly four weeks.
Reuters reported that gold lost in immediate transactions as much as one percent and fell 0.7 percent to $ 1578.26 an ounce.
Prices hit their highest levels since January 8th, earlier in the spot trading session, and in American futures contracts, gold fell 0.3 percent to $ 1582.90.
European and American stocks rose slightly, but global stocks fell to the lowest level in seven weeks and the dollar rose about 0.3 percent against its main competitors after recovering from the lowest level of two weeks that it touched the previous session.
With regard to other precious metals, palladium settled at $ 2277.65 an ounce, while silver fell 1.3 percent to $ 17.79, and platinum fell 0.3 percent to $ 953.75.
