Tariff negotiations: Bercy sanctions Carrefour, Système U and Intermarché

A few weeks before the end of the 2020 price negotiations, on March 1 at midnight, Bercy wanted to set the record straight: distributors are ordered to complete discussions with their suppliers on time. This is what the DGCCRF wanted to point out, by making public a penalty of more than 4 million euros imposed on three distributors at the end of December: 2.9 million for Carrefour, 1.1 million for Système U and 200,000 euros for Intermarché.

These brands did not complete the 2019 commercial negotiations with a large number of suppliers in time. The law requires brands and their suppliers to complete their business plans for national brands on March 1 at midnight. Las, "the rule setting a cut-off date had not been respected for a significant number of suppliers", details the repression of fraud in a press release.
