The plane of the future will be carbon-free or will not be. It is in these terms that the great aeronautical challenge of the 21st century is posed. The industry is committed to reducing its polluting emissions by 50% by 2050 compared to 2005. The precursor of these “eco-friendly” aircraft will be the successor to the Airbus A320 (and the Boeing 737 Max) that the European giant plans to put into service by 2030.
