Airbus announced Thursday that it has become the sole owner of the A220 program with the Quebec government, while Bombardier is finalizing its exit from the commercial aviation sector.

In a statement, the European aircraft manufacturer said it now owns 75% of Airbus Canada, while the participation of the Government of Quebec in the program increased to 25%.
The transaction provides that Airbus will also acquire production capacities for the A220 and A330 from Bombardier in Saint-Laurent, Quebec.
