" The intersyndicale of Parisian taxis met on February 13 and decided to hold a static demonstration at the Gare de Lyon on February 21 " from 11:00 am and until 1:00 am on Saturday February 22 " to express its opposition to the redevelopment of the site ", which" will degrade the access of taxis to the station and therefore their quality of service to users ", explain seven organizations including unions CFDT, CGT, South and FO in the sector.

The intersyndicale requests " free and exclusive access of taxis to the forecourt of the Clock Tower, parking spaces for pre-ordered taxis and the maintenance of the taxi stand on rue de Bercy ".

"It's catastrophic"

" The work is already underway at Gare de Lyon and access to the station courtyard has become chargeable, " said Karim Asnoun, secretary of the CGT Taxis interviewed by AFP. " It is catastrophic (...), we cannot bring people with reduced mobility as close as possible to the station ", he deplored. " It is not for lack of having arrested the SNCF in writing with the support of the municipality, " said Karim Asnoun, asking for a " real dialogue ".

SNCF Gares & Connexions has been working for " more than a year and a half (...) to improve the drop off of taxi customers " Gare de Lyon, the fourth station in France whose traffic is growing, AFP told AFP a SNCF spokesperson, ensuring that taxis have been " regularly associated " with the renovation project. " We are going to set up a free five minutes so that taxis can drop off their customers satisfactorily " and that vehicle flows can be better regulated, he said.

A barrier must be installed in early March at the start of the access ramp to the station yard. Mountain bikes and individual vehicles will also be able to access the courtyard, for a fee. As for the station rue de Bercy, it must be maintained, he said.
