In a few days, the rapeseed and sunflower oil departments of supermarkets will welcome new Lesieur bottles. In glass and from organic farming, these two references (sunflower and sunflower-olive) will complete a seed oil department that has struggled for years with annual drops in volumes of 1.5 to 2% per year. A fall that the leading brand in the sector, owned by the Avril group, wants to reverse, in particular by accelerating its environmental and nutritional commitments.

Lesieur, which weighs 32% of the market share in supermarkets and achieves 578 million euros in turnover, is thus launching a series of initiatives. From this year, all of its one-liter oil bottles will be 100% recycled plastic (compared to 0 to 50% in 2019). Same objective on all its products (mayonnaise, sauces, vinaigrette…) by 2023.
