The France of 2020 summarized in five key figures

Employment, equipment, accommodation, leisure ... INSEE draws up an overview of the country's developments each year.


Each year, INSEE publishes "Tables of the French economy" which draw, with figures and graphs in 88 files on 270 pages, a panorama of the evolutions of France over the short and long period. Among this constellation of information, Le Figaro has selected 5 key figures (generally dating from 2018) which provide a clear picture of France today.

● Housing: 57.7%

It is the rate of owners of their housing in France in 2019, stable since the beginning of the decade but increasing by almost two points in twenty years. If the share of tenants has remained the same (at less than 40%), it is above all the proportion of "other statuses", and in particular households housed free of charge, which has halved since the beginning of the 2000s, to stabilize today just above 2%. The rate of hexagonal owners is one of the highest in Europe.
