The players of the United States football team, double defending world champions, were dismissed in their request for equal pay with the men's team, Friday by a federal judge.

In his 32-page decision, Judge Gary Klausner of the United States District Court for Central California in Los Angeles rejected the complainants' claim of wage discrimination but referred their grievances over inequality to a later judgment treatment in accommodation, travel and other areas. A spokesperson for the complainants, including team star and feminist activist Megan Rapinoe, said they would appeal.
