Today, the Ministry of Finance issued the executive instructions for Legislative Decree No. 10 of 2020 regarding the exemption of imported raw materials from customs duties specified in the customs tariff schedule.

According to the instructions that SANA received a copy of, "The imported raw materials as inputs to the local industry subject to a customs duty are exempted from 1 percent of the customs duties specified in the effective tariff schedule issued by Decree No. 377 of 2014 and all taxes and other fees imposed on import."

The instructions indicate that the industrialist wishing to import the need of his industrial facility from the aforementioned raw materials must submit an application to the concerned directorate of industry, which in turn after a physical examination of the industrial establishment by directing a letter to the concerned directorate of economy and foreign trade that includes the name and quantities of the material for a year according to the production capacity for one time And that the industrial facility be established and ready for work and production.

The instructions clarify that the concerned Directorate of Economy and Foreign Trade must grant import licenses for the materials indicated in the book issued by the relevant Industry Directorate and whose customs fee is 1 percent, in a manner that does not conflict with the granting mechanism approved by the Ministry of Economy and Foreign Trade, according to the applied applied guide for granting approvals for import licenses and approvals.

According to the instructions, “Import licenses for the aforementioned primary materials as production inputs granted to industrialists from 1-6-2020 will be declared with the phrase (take advantage of the provisions of Legislative Decree No. 10 dated 13-5-2020 in addition to the signature of the worker responsible for granting licenses and its seal, and a condition on the license proves that Clearance will take place before 1-6-2021).
