Seven out of ten Argentines have less income than before the pandemic , according to a Poliarquía survey. Even so, 64% of those consulted support the extension of social isolation , a lower number than the 84% that supported it at the beginning of the quarantine.

The Poliarquía Consultores survey on "The impact of the Pandemic in Argentina" was conducted in the fourth week of May. 83% of respondents said they were "very or quite concerned" about the advance of Covid-19 in the country. The record fell two percentage points from the previous week, when similar sampling had been conducted.

The most recent measurement shows that 71% of those consulted approve of Alberto Fernández's management of the coronavirus . The guarantee to the president has been falling from the 84% floor registered between April 10 and 16.

When inquiring about the extension of the quarantine , 64% of the respondents are in favor. 30% say they "strongly agree" and 25% "strongly agree", while 22% respond that they "disagree", and 10% say "not at all agree". The remaining 4% do not answer.

"Which of the following phrases best reflects the impact of the coronavirus on your salary or income?" Asks the survey. The effect of the quarantine is very strong: only 22% answered that their income was maintained . For 24% "they decreased somewhat" and for 30% "they decreased considerably". 16% directly "ran out of pay" and 6% had no income since before the pandemic. 2% did not respond. Thus, the block of those who lost income amounts to 70%.

In addition , 52% are concerned about losing their job due to the pandemic. That record rises to 72% among self-employed workers and 70% among those in the private sector, but falls to 48% among public employees.

In response to the query "Which of the following sentences best reflects your financial situation for the next days of quarantine?" , 40% answered "I will probably continue to collect or have income", while 19% choose "I will probably not continue to collect or have income but could meet the expenses". Another 24% say "I will probably not continue to collect or have income and it will be very difficult to meet the expenses" and 13% declare that they have no job or income. 4% do not answer.
