It is a measure of unprecedented scale to respond to the current crisis. Since March 25 and the establishment of this state guaranteed loan scheme (PGE), nearly half a million companies have requested it. Very high figures. On a European scale, France is champion on these loans in terms of sums granted, ahead of Spain (around 63 billion euros for 500,000 companies also, according to recent figures from Les Echos ), Great Britain, (around 35 billion for more than 740,000 companies) or Germany (28 billion for 50,000 companies). Nicolas Dufourcq notably welcomed the commitment of BPIFrance which made it possible to arrive at these figures. " It is a huge success of the French banking system, you have to imagine the energy expenditure in the 17,000 branches of all the mutual and banking networks that was necessary ", he explains, ensuring that the files of the companies are followed day and night.

These loans mean that in the event of non-repayment, the State will take charge of the rest of the credit to be repaid. In France, more than 85% of companies are eligible for these EMPs. This device can climb up to 300 billion euros.
