Home employment federations denounced Tuesday the " injustice " suffered by professionals helping vulnerable people, excluded from the premium given to front-line staff against coronavirus, a reward yet announced by the government but whose responsibility falls to the departments.

" The 300,000 professionals cry out against injustice and demand, like the staff of the Ehpad, the payment by the State of a premium of 1,000 euros in the green zone and 1,500 euros in the red zone ", write in a joint press release eight federations representative of this sector.

For ADMR, Adédom, the Federation of Service to Individuals, the National Union of Home Help and Services, Synerpa, Fehap, Fédésap, and FNAAFP / CSF, home helpers have “ despite an often critical financial situation and the virtual absence of personal protective equipment at the start, continued to fully assume their frontline role with the public affected by the virus.

The government announced in mid-April the payment of bonuses for caregivers on the job in the face of the coronavirus epidemic. He also wanted to grant a bonus for the personnel of all the medico-social structures, whether public or private.

However, for the home help sector, funded by the departments, " the premium remains an unfulfilled promise ," note the signatories. A few days after the publication of the decree formalizing the payment of a bonus to the staff of nursing homes and public medico-social structures, they ask the State " to guarantee fair treatment and a legitimate recognition of the commitment of all a sector during this health crisis ”.

Asked in mid-May in the National Assembly about this difference in treatment, Olivier Véran had indicated that the premiums for home helpers were " within the competence of the department " and that the State was working " in concert with all the departments ( ...) in the hope, the expectation, that a gesture could be triggered for home helpers ". The Departmental Council of Meurthe-et-Moselle announced Monday that it would pay up to 1,500 euros in bonuses to the 2,000 employees of home help who worked during the coronavirus crisis.
