Domitys senior residences have weathered the Covid-19 crisis. If heavy goods vehicles such as Korian or Orpea paid a heavy human price, the company, controlled by the property developer Nexity, was relatively spared with ten deaths, most of them in its residences in eastern France.
This is explained first by its demography. Its residents are younger, around 80 to 85 years against 85 to 90 years for those of Ehpad. They are also more autonomous and do not require medical care. If the collective spaces within the residences were closed and the personnel equipped with protective equipment, the constraints were much less heavy than in Ehpad. Daily health points (temperature measurement, etc.) and visits three times a day were nevertheless organized.
