The car manufacturer PSA (Peugeot, Citroën, Opel, DS) announced Tuesday a restructuring of its distribution network in the Paris region and the closure of eleven outlets mainly in inner Paris in order to save money.

PSA retail, the distribution subsidiary of the PSA group, announced in a press release that it would operate on 25 sites in Île-de-France, compared to 36 previously. The project affects 255 employees on open-ended contracts who will be offered positions on other PSA Retail sites in the region, or in the provinces for those who wish. There will be " no impact on employment ", assured the group which informed the social partners on Tuesday.
" It is an operation of economic efficiency, " said a spokesman for AFP. The group wishes to adapt to market developments. At the end of the operation, PSA will no longer have a point of sale within the device.

The automobile market in Paris " represented only 13,227 registrations of private vehicles in 2019. At the same time, the cost of commercial real estate in inner Paris reaches levels among the highest in Europe and the world, and requires a redesign of the sites in order to meet the requirements of a lasting economic equation , ”explained the group.
The manufacturer also intends to amplify the “ digitalization ” of customer journeys and the launch of new services such as home delivery of vehicles. It also plans to further strengthen “ multi -branding”, that is to say the presence of several group brands on the same site. PSA Retail has 4,800 employees in France and 9,837 in Europe. This own distribution network represents one in five of the group's car sales in the countries where it is present.
