Aerolíneas Argentinas has "under analysis" the possibility of transferring some of its planes and crews to Córdoba to begin making flights from the Mediterranean capital to other parts of the country where there have been no recent cases of coronavirus, all without passing through Buenos Aires . This "scenario," as described by state airline spokespeople, has so far no approval or start date. But it is part of a proposal that the president of Airlines, Pablo Ceriani, presented to the Minister of Transportation, Mario Meoni, and that is on the table of the two officials.

The information, published by the newspaper La Nación, was confirmed by both spokesmen for Airlines and Transportation. "When Meoni came out to say that she was working on a proposal with Airlines, it was based on that document, with three possible scenarios," said Airlines.

The document, entitled "Health proposal for the restart of activity", raises three possible scenarios : federal corridors, trunk routes from Buenos Aires and, the third, a "Network of federal corridors based in Córdoba (without passing through Buenos Aires) "

The latter would consist of transferring crews and at least four Embraer aircraft (from Austral) to the Córdoba airport so that "eight daily departures of triangular flights connecting north-south destinations via Córdoba and we enter the interior directly." There are very few flights for what was the usual operation of Aerolineas-Austral (less than 10% of the activity prior to the pandemic) but it would allow to make routes from Córdoba to Tucumán , from Tucumán to Mendoza and from there back to Córdoba, for example.

Other cities included in these hypothetical "corridor" flights are Rosario, Neuquén, Resistencia, Jujuy, Bahía Blanca, Trelew, La Rioja, Salta and Posadas, among others. The plan, with several routes, divides them into "North" and "South" corridors, without passing through Buenos Aires.
