Three weeks before the start of the school year, entrepreneurs want to believe it

Although they anticipate a drop of 15% on average in their turnover this year, small and medium-sized enterprises are banking on a recovery in activity.


Everyone knows that the return of summer holidays will not be easy in companies… The latest wave of the Decision-Makers Barometer carried out by Viavoice for HEC Paris, Le Figaro and BFM Business showed, at the end of July, that 84% of leaders indeed expect a restless social return.

Beyond the inevitable rise in unemployment in view of the litany of social plans announced, entrepreneurs are also worried about their financial situation. According to a study recently published by Bpifrance, French SMEs thus anticipate an average drop of 15% in their turnover in 2020, directly linked to the coronavirus crisis. A decline in activity mainly due to "the regulatory closure of establishments", 29% of respondents also citing the difficulties "to produce with the same efficiency" due to the application of health measures and 20% the "lack of outlets " .

And yet, they will have spared no efforts this summer to raise the bar.
