Oil prices closed slightly lower today amid concerns about the faltering global economic recovery.
Reuters reported that the world benchmark Brent crude futures fell 22 cents, or 0.6 percent, to settle at $ 39.61 a barrel, while the US benchmark West Texas crude futures fell seven cents, or 0.2 percent, to close at $ 37.26 a barrel.
Both benchmarks ended last week in the second consecutive week of losses.
