The new reinforcement of the exchange rate establishes that those who want to access the official dollar will have to pay, in addition to the 30% surcharge corresponding to the PAIS tax, another
35% on account of the Income and Personal Property taxes.
Given the new provision of the Central Bank of the Argentine Republic (BCRA), the Federal Administration of Public Revenues (AFIP) established a mechanism, which will come into effect on Wednesday, to apply the corresponding withholdings on account of the aforementioned taxes.
The receipts will be made effective both in purchases of foreign currency for hoarding, and in purchases with a credit and debit card that are paid in foreign currency.
This new 35% surcharge will be on account of Income and Personal Property taxes, so that at the end of the fiscal year, the taxpayer may claim the reimbursement of that perception, always with supporting documentation.

The new surcharges will also not be applied in the acquisition abroad of equipment materials and other goods destined to the fight against fire and the civil protection of the population by the entities recognized in Law 25,054 and its amendments.
