2020-09-16T15:52:56.653Z

Employees of these laboratories, responsible in particular for screening for the coronavirus in Occitania, have been on strike since Tuesday. Overwhelmed by their

“The Covid is the last straw!

“For the seventy people gathered in front of the headquarters of the Biofusion medical biology laboratories in Montauban (Tarn-et-Garonne), the message is clear.

The many tests for the coronavirus have simply come to overflow an already full camel of claims.

A week after a notice filed by Force Ouvrière (FO), the CFDT and the CGT, the employees went on strike Tuesday, September 15.

A movement renewed this Wednesday, September 16 in the absence of a response from the management of Biofusion, a group of 200 people (subsidiary of Inovie), which has 21 laboratories in the Lot, Tarn-et-Garonne and Haute-Garonne.

Magalie, nurse, thus denounces "an overload of work and insufficient salary conditions", she who earns less than 1,500 euros net per month.

"Employees are on the verge of burn-out"

Received at noon by the management under the applause of the strikers, the union representatives obtained the payment of a "new Covid bonus of 1000 euros with negotiations at the national level for a net amount exempt from taxes".

The first planned bonus was 250 euros.

But for Stéphanie Stylianos, FO delegate, the movement will not stop with a promise of bonus or a negotiation schedule.

"We want wages to be harmonized, because there are still inequalities within the group following the various mergers, and a 10% increase," continues the laboratory technician.

Employees are on the verge of burnout.

We are a forgotten profession and ill-being is national.

All the trades are represented here: nurses, technicians, medical secretaries, couriers… ”.

She also hopes that the mobilization in Tarn-et-Garonne, down slightly on this second day "because of low salaries", will snowball in all French laboratories.

Worried and aggressive patients

A medical secretary, at 1,450 euros net per month after ten years, is annoyed: “I am a site referent and working conditions are deteriorating.

I have to process a hundred cases a day.

There is a fed up, especially since people who come to be tested for Covid are in fear and become aggressive.

They are attacking us.

"If the current health crisis is not at the heart of the claims, it is certainly" a trigger ", as recognized by Marie-Claire, a laboratory technician at one of the twenty peripheral sites.

“The Covid worsened our working conditions, even though the management hired.

But we have to train them, which forces some employees to work overtime, ”points out Stéphanie Stylianos.

A new meeting between unions and management was scheduled for 5 p.m.
