Confidentiality and neutrality are the main assets of business mediation.
Mainly approached by VSEs and SMEs (92%), this structure, which depends on the Ministry of the Economy and Finance, resolves free of charge and amicably, since 2010, many problems of payment deadlines and subcontracting , with suppliers or clients, both private and public.
Its workforce, which has grown with the crisis, has about sixty mediators, volunteers.
During confinement, the activity of this cell exploded - it was multiplied by ten - from 60 requests for mediations per week to 650. Today,
“the level of tension is still high, but the referrals are less numerous, due to the slowdown in the economy, ”
indicates Pierre Pelouzet, who manages this branch.
Pure mediations, however, remain high.
The average of the last two months oscillates from 50 to 100 while between 12 and 20 were current, in January.
