"Many people no longer want to be perceived as wearing prostheses or have cheap dentures with a gray haze in their mouths."
That costs: On average, patients with statutory health insurance paid 2500 euros for an implant, reports Frößler.
Half is due for the treatment, the other half for the material.
If you go to the dentist with major construction sites in your mouth and high demands, a certain willingness to pay is therefore mandatory, at least if you belong to the group of those with statutory insurance.
The situation is similar with many other treatments and medical aids: the health insurance company pays at most what is necessary, appropriate and economical.
If you have extra wishes, you have to finance them mostly out of your own pocket - unless you have taken out private supplementary health insurance.
