Technical workshops in Al-Walid Mill in Homs have completed all the preparations and maintenance necessary for the current cotton season, according to the established plan.
Eng. Maher Assaf, Director of Al-Walid's Mill in Homs, explained in a statement to SANA that the maintenance and rehabilitation work at the ginning included replacing some machines and securing spare parts for others, pointing out that the technical workshops also carried out all maintenance work and replaced the cables and lighting, as well as preparing the electric motors that operate the machines in addition to completing an automation and programming Treatments for ginning were re-equipped, and winches and tractors needed to transport the cotton and seeds were also equipped.
He added that, in cooperation with the Union of Pregnant Workers and Porters, the necessary contracts are being concluded for the required labor during the ginning season, which is expected to start receiving the cottons during the current month.
The Al-Walid ginning in Homs received last season more than 16 thousand tons of beloved cotton resulting in 4,900 tons of ginned cotton and 8,452 tons of seeds. The entire production was marketed to spinning and weaving companies in the public and private sectors and the sugar company for the manufacture of vegetable oils in Homs.
