As part of the offer carried by Veolia, the Meridiam fund is proposing to take over other assets from Suez, in addition to water in France.

The Meridiam fund, associated with Veolia in the Suez takeover project, is increasingly ambitious.

It has reached an agreement with Veolia to buy Suez's water activities in France if the Suez takeover bid is successful.

Stakeholders in these discussions are beginning to envision a broader resumption of activity in order to maintain some unity in the company.

This does not frighten the fund specializing in infrastructure, headed by Thierry Déau.

"Meridiam is part of the spirit wanted by the stakeholders of friendliness and dialogue by Monday, October 5," said

a spokesperson for the investment fund.

In this context,

“Meridiam has always wanted to carry the development project around Suez Eau France with all the management teams of the Suez group who do not have a vocation or do not wish to join Veolia, including its CEO Bertrand Camus with whom we let's share the passion for ecological transformation,

”explains the spokesperson.

What, moreover, respond to those who accuse the fund of not having the expertise and the men to effectively operate the resumed activities.

But Meridiam proposes to go even further since, the fund

"is ready to take over a wider scope of Suez activities with complete intelligence with the teams around a very long-term industrial project, consistent with its raison d'être and its mission, in particular to respond to requests that the competition authorities may make ”

Two types of activities could be taken up, in addition to water in France.

First, certain waste treatment activities in France.

Antoine Frérot, CEO of Veolia, believes that there are enough competitors in this area, such as Paprec or Derichebourg, to conduct proper negotiations.

But some Suez employees might want to remain independent.

Meridiam could be a solution.

But it is also possible to consider associating certain activities in the international water sector, in order to maintain this activity on a global scale.
