Insect feed producer Ynsect raises an additional 190 million euros

for the food of farmed fish and domestic animals, announced on Tuesday that it had raised 224 million dollars (more than 190 million euros), thus continuing its previous round of 125 million euros.

This round table, the most important of the sector in Europe, was announced by the group, co-founded by the current president Antoine Hubert, in the presence of the Secretary of State in charge of digital Cédric O. It was carried out with Astanor Ventures, Upfront Ventures, Footprint Coalition, the fund of American actor Robert Downey Junior.

But also Happiness Capital, Supernova Invest and Armat group.

18 months ago, the start-up had already initiated this series C financing for 125 million dollars (106 million euros), to launch the construction of its first industrial site, a vertical farm in Poulainville near Amiens .

After its pilot site in Dole in the Jura, it is due to come into service in 2022 to eventually produce 100,000 tonnes of protein each year.
