Since the beginning of this year, the Damascus Industry Directorate has granted 150 decisions allowing industrial and craft establishments to start working with a capital estimated at one billion and 125 million pounds, with a value of machines estimated at 808 million pounds, in preparation for obtaining the final licenses.

The director of Damascus Industry Maher Thaljeh indicated that granting the owners of these companies these decisions comes within the framework of the government facilities provided to industrial and craft establishments that have been affected by terrorism, explaining that these decisions indicate that the owners of these establishments have already begun to take the necessary measures to take off their facilities in preparation for obtaining the final licenses.

According to Snowleh, granting industrialists and craftsmen these decisions is part of simplified and fast administrative procedures within the framework of encouraging work and investment in the industrial sector.

Regarding the details of the distribution of those decisions, Thaljah pointed out that the industrial establishments that have obtained an industrial decision since the beginning of the year reached 102 establishments with a capital estimated at one billion and 43 million pounds, and the value of machines exceeded 762 million pounds, noting that the number of craft establishments that obtained an industrial craft decision amounted to 30 worth Machines that reached 45,779 thousand and the capital amounted to 82 million pounds.

The director of the industry indicated that the activities of the industrial establishments that obtained the industrial decision had their activities distributed at the rate of 7 engineering establishments, 17 textile, 46 food and 28 chemical establishments, and with regard to craft establishments, the decision was granted to one engineering facility, two facilities for textile activity, 19 for food activity, and 3 for chemical activity.

Thuljah confirmed that 100 establishments have returned to work in the Zablatani complex to the governorate's blocs out of 750 facilities under rehabilitation that will return to work within about a month, indicating that the rehabilitation processes belong to the same facilities while the infrastructure and services are ready.

Regarding the facilities in the basements, Thaljah confirmed that they are workshops in the field of manufacturing clothing, bags and leather shoes, indicating that the Damascus governorate has formed a committee to find intermediate solutions to grant these workshops the necessary licenses.

He reviewed the obstacles and challenges facing the industry in the face of its development, including unilateral coercive measures that affected securing raw materials, production requirements and spare parts, in addition to the loss of a large number of expert manpower.
