New York - SANA
Oil prices rose today, supported by the commitment of OPEC and its allies to the agreement to reduce supply in September, and despite concerns that the recovery in fuel demand will slow due to the growing global cases of Coronavirus.
Reuters reported that the futures contract for Brent crude for December delivery rose 87 cents, equivalent to 2.5 percent, to determine the settlement price at $ 43.32 a barrel, and US West Texas Intermediate crude contracts increased by 84 cents, or 2.9 percent, to close at $ 41.40 a barrel.
The main US stock indexes opened higher today, led by heavyweight technology stocks, while the dollar declined, which boosted oil as investors move between asset classes.
