It is against the backdrop of the hoped-for announcement of the launch of the new generation aircraft carrier program (PANG), called to succeed
Charles-de-Gaulle
by 2038-2040, that opens this Monday, the Euronaval show.
Due to Covid-19, this 51st edition takes place, all week long, in a digital format.
Florence Parly, the Minister of the Armed Forces, is to inaugurate it by sending a video message to this strategic sector of the French armaments industry.
It brings together, under the banner of Gican, its employers' organization, 200 companies, including 10% large groups, 65% SMEs and 15% mid-sized companies, not to mention dozens of start-ups.
The sector directly employs 48,000 highly qualified employees.
