Technology has won everything, except the damn disease
"I well remember the announcement of Tali's illness. The cancer chose her and eluded all the treatments she did."

The gap between my daily preoccupation with the world of innovation and technology versus such harsh treatment methods for cancer is inconceivable.
While my beloved wife is fighting with all her might for the damned cancer, undergoing harsh chemotherapy treatments, radiation to the head that seemed to have been taken from medieval torture methods, and taking drugs with out-of-this-world side effects, I found myself struggling with severe frustration and misunderstanding - how in such an advanced medical and technological age , The cure for this satanic disease has not yet been found.
I well remember the moment of the announcement that my wife Tali had cancer, as if it were yesterday.
Triple Negative Breast Cancer, Grade 2, Local.
The gospel fell upon us in utter astonishment.
In this case, it was not something hereditary or an environmental factor.
Just like that.
Cancer chose us, chose Batali, a young woman about 35 years old, perfectly healthy, who does sports regularly and eats healthy and well.
Unfortunately, we soon found out that the cancer had already spread to the lymph nodes and Tali's definition of the disease had moved to grade 3. By then we already understood how the issue of early detection is not a generic sentence or an empty slogan.
Early detection is in fact almost the only weapon for effectively dealing with cancer over time.
Not only in terms of life-saving, but also in terms of the aggressiveness of the treatments and the degree of suffering of the patient.
The treatments that my beloved Tali went through were hell incarnated and indescribable suffering, decay of the body, screams of pain and all this while Tali fought tremendously, with heroism and determination, to succeed and cope and survive for our little ones and to fulfill her dreams.

The road to death was full of pain, suffering and tears.
Gadi and Tali Michaels
Despite the terrible year we went through, we also had quite a few moments of happiness.
In the short periods when the disease receded, Tali and I managed to fulfill many dreams.
We have learned that there is no other time better than the here and now, come on, fulfill.
We got to travel a lot to nature sites that Tali so loved, consume endless movies and shows, eat at the best restaurants and spend a lot of quality time with the kids.
Tali also developed endlessly intellectually, went to a tremendous amount of professional metaphors and did many courses in diverse fields, and even fulfilled an old dream and began studying law for a bachelor’s degree even though she had already completed a bachelor’s and master’s degree in academia.
Precisely at the height of her intellectual development, the cruel cancer managed to elude all the treatments she did, and send metastases to the brain.
Grade 3 has already been replaced by grade 4, terminal cancer.
From here, the road to death was fast and fraught with pain, suffering and tears.
My Tali passed away on 19.3.2020 after about a year and a bit of heroic struggle with a terrible and diabolical disease.
If only we had discovered the disease earlier, there is a very good chance that Tally would be alive today, or at least suffering less.
Tali was 36 when she died.
Caught her abruptly.

Dear women, I address you in the most direct way possible - do not tell me it will not happen.
Also do not think that you are immune because you are not in a risk group, not a carrier of brca or under the age of 40. Go get tested.
At least once a year.
Do not settle for a standard tactile test.
Require comprehensive tests, ultrasound, and any other advanced testing.
Early detection saves lives.
I know this from the most painful place there is.
