The turnover of airlines will be further down by 46% in 2021 compared to 2019, very far from regaining its pre-pandemic level, forecast the International Air Transport Association (Iata) on Tuesday.

The companies were hoping for a resumption of air traffic in the fourth quarter but faced with the new wave of Covid-19 and the traffic restrictions - border closures and the implementation of quarantine measures - which accompany it, they have revised their outlook in drop. The Iata previously expected a 29% drop in turnover compared to 2019, said in a press release the organization which brings together 290 airlines.
