At Dassault Aviation, unions demand more teleworking

2020-11-04T06:09:50.880Z

Officially, half of the 8,500 employees of the group telework, as in March. But according to the CGT and CFDT, they would only be a half

“This afternoon in the canteen, there were almost as many people as in October.

“If we are to believe the unions, at the headquarters of Dassault Aviation in Saint-Cloud (Hauts-de-Seine), there were many employees in the offices at the start of the week.

Since the announcement of new confinement in the face of the Covid-19 pandemic, the government has nevertheless encouraged companies to place, when possible, especially in the tertiary sector, the majority of their staff in telework.

At Dassault Aviation, out of 8,500 employees, at least 4,400 were 100% teleworking, during the first confinement, specify the unions.

This scenario seems different since Monday, November 2.

The management assures us: “In accordance with government directives, we give maximum priority to teleworking.

Fifty percent of our 8,500 employees currently benefit ”.

But for the unions, this official version is not that of the offices.

“Since the start of the September school year, there are a little over a thousand people working from home,” said Eric Lision, CGT central delegate.

And, to date, nothing has changed.

"

A teleworking agreement signed two years ago

"There is a strong demand from employees to work remotely," assures Dinh Lê, CFDT union representative at Dassault Aviation.

But we have the impression that management is reluctant to generalize teleworking, that it is waiting to be obliged to do so.

"

The trade unionist relies on testimonies "from colleagues who wish to telework and to whom this has been refused".

He also notes that the CFDT asked management for a business continuity plan, with the list of positions accessible to teleworking, and that it "did not follow up".

At Dassault, teleworking was the subject of an agreement two years ago, which stipulates that 500 out of 8,500 positions are eligible for teleworking.

“The access conditions are very severe, regrets Dinh Lê.

For example, can only claim it the employees who have at least three years of seniority.

"

Why such a low rate of teleworking?

"The results of the first confinement, made by the management, were rather positive, we assure the CFDT.

The only problem raised was the lack of contact between colleagues.

"

Two extraordinary meetings Wednesday and Thursday

Does the difficulty lie in the strategic nature of the data and the need to secure confidential exchanges?

“Obviously, teleworking is not possible at all positions.

The people, who are in these positions, were not part of the 4,700 people teleworking in March, ”confirms the representative of the CFDT, who criticizes management for a lack of anticipation.

For its part, the CGT questioned Monday, in writing, the CEO and human resources management of Dassault Aviation.

"We asked them to strictly apply the national health protocol, which strongly encourages teleworking", reports Eric Lision, adding that "many employees are requesting, in particular to avoid taking transport".
