Professionals forced to stop their activity are preparing to demonstrate against the measures taken by the government this afternoon.

Another rant from professionals in distress this afternoon.

Restaurateurs, cafetiers, nightclub managers, shopkeepers and intermittents will parade in Lyon, when the extras of the event will participate in an activist action throughout the territory.

All are calling for a resumption of their activity, while the situation is different depending on the profession.

Last Thursday, Prime Minister Jean Castex announced the maintenance of the closure for at least 15 days of shops deemed "

non-essential

", and that of restaurants and bars until further notice, causing the rebellion of traders and restaurateurs.

This Monday, Bruno Le Maire announced that for “non-essential” businesses, “

the reopening is more a matter of days than weeks,

” said the minister.

Alain Griset, Minister Delegate in charge of SMEs, receives this Monday at 5 pm the federations of traders to move forward on the subject.

On the other hand, for restaurants and cafes, the horizon is much more distant.

To express their anger, these professionals will demonstrate from 3 p.m. in Lyon.

A movement launched by Umih, the main union for hospitality trades, but "

which has attracted professionals who do not have the same profession as us at all

", testifies Laurent Luc, president of the Union.

Restaurateurs, hoteliers, cafetiers, nightclub managers, shopkeepers, "

and even circus intermittents, who have made sure to join us,

" says Laurent Luc.

"

Alongside the Umih, there will be the Confederation of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises, the Chamber of Trades, event professionals ... we anticipate a procession of around 1000 people, but we will probably be more,

" he continues.

Elsewhere in France, the intermittent extras of the event, also intend to perform a new action "punch" this afternoon.

The Organization of Catering Staff in Events (OPRE) has planned to put up photos of extras on the walls of several cities, accompanied by short texts which aim to challenge passers-by: "

250 days without work or help

";

"

Without help since March 17

";

"

We are proud to serve you, be proud to help us

" can we read in these photos.

Call for a resumption of activity and state aid

This mobilization aims to recall the dramatic situation facing these professionals.

If restaurateurs and hoteliers have been able to maintain a little activity in eight months, nightclubs and bars have almost stopped since March 16: "

We're dying!"

“Laurent Luc abounds.

Since the start of the health crisis, we have lost 50% of nightclub managers,

” he says.

For the president of Umih, the activity must resume, and for that, the solution is simple: "

Leave us open, impose a strict sanitary protocol on us, and make it respect

", he summarizes.

As for the extras of the event sector, the situation is all the more alarming as they do not receive state aid, not having the status of intermittent.

Affiliated to the general scheme, we are required to work a sufficient quota of hours to be able to claim unemployment.

However, having all been out of work since the end of February, we have not been able to accumulate enough working hours to claim to reopen our rights,

”explains Robert Chassagnon, member of the OPRE.

The objective for the organization is

at least

to obtain government aid.
