The accident of the banker Jorge Brito has
similarities
with the one that Carlitos Menem, the former president's son, suffered in 1995. Both died while piloting a helicopter, at low altitude.
And in both there was a determining factor:
a cable
.
Brito's helicopter collided with a zip line near the Cabra Corral dam in Salta.
That of the former president's son, with a power line, in a field in Ramallo.
The co-drivers also died in both accidents.
The one who accompanied Carlitos Menem was the runner Silvio Oltra.
An Air Force report concluded that the aircraft that Carlitos Menem piloted on March 15, 1995 "was performing a part of the flight at low altitude over the free zone between the lanes of Route 9."
Specifically, at an altitude of 11 meters, at kilometer 211.5.
The remains of the helicopter in which Carlitos Menem and Silvio Oltra were traveling.
"The cables broke the bars, leaving the aircraft without command. No material or maintenance failures were detected that influenced the accident."
The report determined that the collision of the helicopter against the ground caused its destruction and the death of its occupants due to a
previous impact
against a laying of electricity conducting cables "that left the aircraft ungovernable": "It was a contributing factor: the passage of cables in the area not covered by the cable cutter system ".
