The traditional Christmas tree at Galeries Lafayette in Paris has taken on its finery.
Since last week, it has been standing like every year under the large dome of the historic building on Boulevard Haussmann.
But no one, apart from a few employees, comes to admire the adornments.
Under the dome at 43 meters high, everything is empty and silent as never at this time of year.
Almost all of the staff are on short-time work, pending reopening.
The date will be known Tuesday evening.
