Alstom consolidates its global lead in hydrogen trains.
The French manufacturer on Thursday signed a contract for the supply of six hydrogen trains, with a capacity of 245 seats each, to Ferrovie Nord Milano (FNM), the regional transport company of Lombardy, in the north of the 'Italy.
The contract, with an option for eight additional trains, is estimated at around 160 million euros.
The first trains, precisely a hydrogen version of the Coradia Stream range, will be delivered in 2023. They will be put into service on lines in Val Camonica, near Turin.
“This is very good news for Alstom, which is very proud to introduce its hydrogen technologies in Italy.
