Elisabeth Köstinger
, 42, has been Austria's Minister for Agriculture, Regions and Tourism since January 2020.
The politician of the Christian Democratic ÖVP studied communication science before she was elected to the EU Parliament for eight years in 2009.
In 2017 she became General Secretary of the ÖVP, then briefly President of the National Council.
The Carinthian Köstinger is a close confidante of Federal Chancellor Sebastian Kurz.
