Covid-19: Turkey will import two types of vaccine

Turkey should receive in the coming days a first order for a Chinese vaccine against the coronavirus and is also preparing to sign a contract for millions of doses of the one produced by BioNTech with the American Pfizer, announced Thursday the Minister of health.

The Minister, Fahrettin Koca, indicated that the first delivery of the Chinese vaccine from the Sinovac laboratory would be sent on Sunday to Turkey, which should initially receive three million doses, with 50 million more as an option.

In addition to this vaccine, Turkey must sign in the coming days a contract with the German laboratory BioNTech for 4.5 million doses, and 30 million more optional, of its vaccine produced in collaboration with Pfizer.

According to Fahrettin Koca, once the vaccination campaign is launched, Turkey, which has 83 million inhabitants "

will be able to vaccinate 1.5 million or even two million people per day

".
