According to data released by the National Bureau of Statistics and reported by Xinhua today, the gross domestic product rose 2.3 percent year on year during 2020 to reach 101.586 trillion yuan.
The data showed that the country's gross domestic product expanded by 6.5 percent on an annual basis during the fourth quarter of 2020.
The data stated that the job market in China maintained stability during the aforementioned year, as the unemployment rate, according to a survey in urban areas, reached 5.6 percent, which is less than the government's annual target of about 6 percent.
The agency noted that the country's economic employment has recovered steadily and that the main tasks of economic and social development have been completed better than expected.
