More and more companies are choosing to become mission companies

In one year, around a hundred structures have amended their statutes to adopt social and environmental objectives.


Should this be seen as a consequence of the crisis which increases the transformation needs of companies?

The threshold of the hundred companies having adopted the status of company with mission has just been exceeded in early January according to the observatory of companies with mission which presented its first barometer this Thursday morning in Bercy.

The movement accelerated in the last quarter of 2020, with a 60% increase in the number of companies that decide to set several social and environmental objectives.

A start that promises to be promising, just one year after the promulgation of the Pacte law, which now allows a company to include a mission in its statutes.

All the more so as modifying these requires a period which can extend over 6 to 18 months depending on its size, its shareholders and its sector of activity.

Beyond this contingency, the introduction of a mission requires a broad reflection upstream.
