The two vaccines developed by Sanofi will not be ready before the end of 2021, but Minister Delegate for Industry Agnès Pannier-Runacher announced in mid-January that it would study the possibility of using its production capacities to produce other vaccines.
A suggestion to which Clément Beaune, Secretary of State for European Affairs, was favorable "
while waiting
" for the production of Sanofi's own vaccine this morning at the microphone of Radio Classique.

For now, France “
has received 2 million doses of the two authorized vaccines
”, the Pfizer / BioNTech and Moderna vaccines, recalls Clément Beaune, while “
Sanofi will arrive later
”.
"
Since there will not be the production of its own vaccine right away, we could use the production capacities to produce other vaccines in the meantime
", pleaded the Secretary of State.
According to him, this would be "
in the collective interest
".
"
This is what the Minister of Industry is trying
to do this week, and we could have two non-Sanofi vaccines which would be partly produced by the Sanofi factories
," he said.
According to the government, the vaccines concerned would be anti-Covid vaccines from BioNTech and Janseen laboratories.
For the time being, only the Pfizer / BioNTech and Moderna vaccines are authorized, but the Secretary of State says he hopes for "
the authorization by the European Medicines Authorized this week
" of the
AstraZeneca / Oxford
vaccine
, "which has submitted its request
".
