The insolvent fast fashion chain Pimkie wants to close 40 of its 75 stores in Germany, 150 employees are to be laid off.

This is reported by the specialist magazine »Textilwirtschaft«.

The creditors have therefore unanimously approved the corresponding insolvency plan.

"Without the sometimes painful adjustments to site rents, the continued existence of Pimkie in Germany would undoubtedly have been in question," said Patrick van der Linden, the operational manager of the Pimkie Group, of the magazine.

The insolvency proceedings had already been announced in September 2020.

Among other things, the company is struggling with growing competition.

In addition, his young, mostly female customers are increasingly migrating to the Internet.
