A festive day turned into a horror show when the CEO of the technology company Vistex fell to his death on stage - from a height of almost five meters - when he tried to make a grand entrance during the company's party held in India, with the shocked employees watching the accident. Now it is being investigated whether it was an accident or an assassination attempt.
CEO Vistax Sanjay Shah and Vistax president Vishwanath Raju Datla were inside a yellow iron cage that was lowered onto the stage as part of their grand entrance during the company party - when a cable unexpectedly snapped, the Times of India reported.
In the shocking footage of the moment, the yellow cage was seen floating above the stage and swinging while fireworks were set off and the audience was asked to cheer for the entrance of the managers.
Seconds later, one of the cables appears to come loose and the cage quickly drops to one side, flinging both heads of the Illinois-based company to the ground from a height of nearly 5 meters.
One of them seems to flip over completely and land with his head on the ground.
The New York Post reported that Shah was killed in the tragic accident.
Datla remains in a critical condition.

Although the cause of the terrible incident was attributed to a broken cable, officials are investigating the incident and the malfunctioning cage and have not yet ruled out the possibility that it was a deliberate malfunction.
Shah and Dalia were in India to celebrate the silver jubilee of Vistax Asia, which was celebrated over two days in the famous film city of Ramoji.
"The lowering of Shah and Raju from the cage to the stage was a planned event to open the celebrations," said a company official.
