The entities that represent the banks came out to announce that tomorrow the branches will be open despite the strike.
"ABA, ABAPPRA, ABE and ADEBA announce that their associated institutions
will provide services to their clients on January 24," they said in a joint statement.
ABA represents banks of foreign origin, ADEBA represents those with private capital, ABAPPRA represents public and cooperative banks, and ABE represents specialized banking.
For its part, the Banking Association, the sector's union, confirmed that its members will join the protest measure organized by the CGT against the policies carried out by Javier Milei.
"Given the stoppage of activities that the Banking Association will adhere to,
financial entities will intensify their efforts to minimize the inconveniences
that this forceful measure may generate for users of the financial system," the text maintains.
In this context, banks suggest their clients to carry out, to the extent possible, procedures in person at branches during the morning or use the various remote service channels that will be available on a regular basis.
The statement highlights that the use of debit and credit cards, as well as electronic channels such as home banking, banking applications and electronic wallets
"will operate normally so as not to affect commercial and payment transactions."
In addition, "the availability of ATMs and service terminals will be guaranteed to ensure the normal functioning of financial operations."
