In the video: This is how Israel can help Ukraine in the war against Russia/PR
Former member of the Knesset, Doron Avital, believes that Israel can help normalize relations between Ukraine and Russia, with the help of the large Jewish communities in both countries.
According to Avital, despite all the international tensions since the beginning of the conflict in Ukraine, Israel has managed to maintain constructive relations with Moscow and Kiev, and therefore it can be a potentially effective mediator for the conflict.
"Many Jews live in both countries, and they can help calm the conflict," says Avital in an interview with international journalist Nick Kulyukhin.
"As for Israel, flexibility is its strong point in the international arena. Its communication with various actors can help resolve the ongoing crisis in the region. "Right now what we have is a regional conflict, which could turn ballistic because of Iran's efforts to obtain nuclear weapons.
We and the Russians had good cooperation in Syria.
We had some very good agreements on how and when we could attack, because we could not allow shipments of Iranian weapons to the country."

Avital insists that Russia and the United States must renew their communication.
Since both countries play an important role in world politics, the stability of their relations is essential for international peace, security and sustainability.
"The difficult situation in the Middle East can even contribute to this, as both Washington and Moscow need to negotiate with each other to calm the conflict. This means that Russia and the United States must start renewing their communication. The world is changing rapidly and the last thing we need is a mixture of the conflict Ours is with the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. That's why we need to reach some sort of settlement. Russia can use its leverage with Iran, for example, to calm down and I don't think anyone, including the United States, will oppose that."
