In the space of a few years, firefighters have seen the number and cost of their interventions increase sharply without their funding adapting sufficiently.
“We need to find additional resources,” warns Jean-Paul Bosland, president of the National Federation of French Firefighters (FNSP).
When you have, as in Allier, at the start of summer 2022, a hailstorm which leads to 4,000 interventions in 24 hours and this type of exceptional event, which occurs every five years, occurs every six months, it’s no longer absorbable.”
