The program that begins on February 1 was regulated. What is the financing rate and what the fine print says.

The Government regulated the Cuota Simple program, which replaces the Now 12 and which will come into effect as of February 1.

The details refer not only to the financing terms, which are 3 and 6 fixed installments with a credit card, but it will have a subsidized rate, a national scope and in principle will last until May 31.

Through resolution 50/2204 of the Ministry of Commerce, published in the Official Gazette, it approved “the Unified Regulation of the Program to Promote the Consumption and Production of Goods and Services, called “SIMPLE QUOTE.”

With this program, consumers will be able to make their purchases virtually

or physically, in fixed installments, and will have more than 30 categories of

nationally manufactured products that can be accessed with a TNA that represents 85% of the Bank's fixed term. Central (110% TNA).

If it remains this way, it will represent a TNA of 93.5%.

The agreement that was sealed last Friday, according to Clarín, involved members of the Ministry of Commerce, the Central Bank, banking entities, and representatives of retail businesses, including representatives of the Argentine Confederation of Medium Enterprises (CAME) and the Argentine Chamber of Commerce (CAC).

The measure aims to "promote economic development, encouraging productive investment and the demand for goods and services through the granting of payment facilities in fixed installments."

According to data collected by the consulting firm Ecolatina,

purchases with Now 12 installment plans represent between 20% and 25% of credit card consumption

, and from there derives the relevance of the reactivation of this program.

According to specialists from the consultancy, the fact that it is

in 3 and 6 installments responds to consumer preferences for shorter financing terms.

Hernán Lechter, CEPA economist, warned that, although the program has an attractive rate, "the risk is that the list price will actually be split with the cash price" and the list price will be raised in order to compensate for the financing
