What if checking bags at the airport was no longer a burden or a stressor? The very young Alltheway, created in 2022, aims to simplify your life. Carrying one or more bulky suitcases in a taxi, the RER or the metro to the airport, while supervising the children, can quickly turn into a nightmare. “In a way, we bring the airport to your home or to collection points,” summarizes Émilie Gazeau. During her missions for the Accor hotel group and the Air France company, the co-founder of the start-up noticed that “baggage management [was] a real problem. »
To remedy this, Alltheway offers two services. The first concerns six baggage check-in points (city hubs) installed in seven Parisian hotels or nearby suburbs (Pullman Paris La Défense, Pullman Bercy, Mercure tour Eiffel, Mercure gare Montparnasse, Novotel Les Halles, Novotel Paris Est, Novotel tour Eiffel). You must first go to the website to make an appointment. Slots are available every ten minutes. Once all flight parameters and the number of bags have been entered, you will be assigned a slot. As well as the amount to be paid. Allow 25 euros for the first piece of luggage and 15 euros per additional item.
Validated by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation
On site, a sworn employee will wait for you at a clearly identifiable yellow terminal for formalities, weighing and registration. For this essential phase, to be carried out between thirty and four hours before your flight, it is of course necessary to bring your tickets and an identity document. Before your eyes, your belongings are sealed and a tracking system validated by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGAC) is put in place. It provides you with live monitoring on the service provider’s website. All you have to do is go to the terminal on the big day and check in.
You can also choose to collect from your home. You will again have to go through the site to provide all the information. A flat rate of 65 euros for two suitcases will be applied to you and 15 euros for an additional one.
For the moment, the service is only available for flights operated by Air France from Paris - Charles-de-Gaulle airport. By May, it should extend to the low-cost airline Transavia, a subsidiary of Air France. Before the end of spring, a check-in point is expected to open at Gare du Nord a few weeks before the Olympic Games. Concerning the size of baggage, check-in is based on the rules in force according to your ticket (generally 23 kg in economy class and 32 kg in business).
