Utility rates and fuel prices have increased again starting in April.
On this occasion, there will be an increase in the price of
gas
combined with the adjustment of the transportation and distribution rates of natural gas through the network throughout the country.
The increase in
fuel taxes
after Easter will have an impact of between 3% and 4% on gasoline and diesel prices nationwide, with the exception of Patagonia - exempt from these taxes for producing the resources. -.
In
electrical energy
, the Government decided to moderate the adjustments to the Edenor and Edesur rates in the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area (AMBA) and distribute the update among a greater number of homes.
Public transport
fares
- trains and buses - in AMBA will remain frozen for those who have their SUBE card registered, instead of the planned increase of 36.6%.
And
water
could rise by 209% during the fourth month of the year, although the complex technical engineering to process the AySA public hearing makes the sector think that the update will run until May.
Gas: who loses subsidies and how much is the increase
Regarding gas, the Government made official this Wednesday the new prices at the Point of Entry to the Transportation System (PIST), wholesale or at the "wellhead", which reflect the average supply cost between local production and imports.
Thus,
it left Level 1 (N1) segmentation households without subsidies, with high income or assets and those that did not ask for or renounced State aid
. Treasury transfers
to all non-domestic users, such as businesses and industries
, categorized as "General Service (P)" will also be eliminated.
According to the oil unions grouped in the Argentine Confederation of Workers and Employees of Hydrocarbons, Energy, Fuels, Derivatives and Related Products (CATHEDA), N1 households will have a 179% increase in the price of gas in April, of $33.09 at $92.33 per cubic meter -m3- if they are in Buenos Aires. For non-residential users, the update is 612% (multiplied by 7), from $12.97 to $92.33/m3.
And N2, low-income households, will see a 154% jump, from $9.68 to $24.60.
In Patagonia, the price of gas will rise 1045% (11 times), from $8.17 to $93.60 per m3 for non-domestic users.
The price of wholesale gas will also be dollarized
, as has already happened since 2016, but
indexed to the exchange rate, a novelty
. Before, it liquefied as the devaluation of the peso against the dollar progressed.
And it is worth clarifying that the price of gas in PIST is only a portion of the bills that reach users, which have other components such as transportation, distribution and taxes rates.
Between this long weekend and Wednesday, April 3, the Government aims to make the rates of each of the transporters and distributors official, so only then will there be an exact measurement of the effect of these increases on the invoices of each type of user.
"We are going to a
flat rate
, which means that the increase in gas in winter will be lower in relative terms. The idea is that it will be a temporary scheme while we test the Basic Energy Basket for a couple of months," he told
Clarín
. an official source.
In the opposition, however, they are more vehement. "
The adjustment is criminal
. Next to this, Mauricio Macri is the king of social justice," they joked in Peronism.
