The Albanesi Group, which has 10 thermal power plants in Argentina and Peru, completed the work of expanding and closing the combined cycle of the Ezeiza Thermal Power Plant, with which it managed to double its installed power, going from 150 MW to 300 MW, and It is already operating at full capacity.
The expansion of the Ezeiza Thermal Power Plant required an investment of more than 220 million dollars, and consisted of the incorporation of a new 50 MW Siemens SGT-800 gas turbine and two Siemens SST-400 steam turbines, which made it possible to provide I employ more than 700 workers.
According to the company, the expansion work benefits 200,000 families connected to the electrical system.
The president of the Albanesi Group, Armando Losón (h.), highlighted that “the conclusion of this work reaffirms Albanesi's commitment to investment and the productive development of the country. By doubling the installed capacity of the Ezeiza Thermal Power Plant, we take a new step aligned with the purpose of contributing to the energy transition process, achieving greater efficiency in the system.”
"The closing of the Ezeiza cycle, together with the other projects we have underway, strengthen our position as one of the main energy generators in Argentina, with an installed capacity of almost 2,000 MW by the end of the year," he added.
The Albanesi Group, which also has energy works in Peru, is also making strong progress with the project to close the cycle of the Modesto Maranzana Thermal Power Plant, located in Río Cuarto, Córdoba.
This plant has a power of 350 MW, making it the largest plant that the Albanesi Group has in the entire country. Once the work is completed, which requires an investment of more than US$190 million, the plant will have an installed capacity of 475 MW in total. It is estimated to enter into operation during the third quarter of 2024.
Another of its projects in progress is the construction of the Arroyo Seco Cogeneration Plant, in the province of Santa Fe. The work requires an investment of more than US$ 150 million and will have 130 MW of installed power that will be injected into the System. Argentine Interconnection (SADI) and 180 tn/h of process steam for the industry.
The steam and energy resulting from the operation will be delivered to the Louis Dreyfus Company industrial complex for its production process. It is estimated that the first stage will be operational during the third quarter of 2024, and that the second will be operational in the first quarter of 2025.
